High Fructose Corn Syrup

by carko on November 5, 2009

I avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) at all costs. Some say there is a direct correlation between increased usage of HFCS in foods and obesity rates in the US. I think it’s more detrimental to our health than eating good ol’ table sugar. A few weeks ago, I was at a hotel in St Louis and limited to the selection at the breakfast buffet. Not only has Dannon shrunk it’s portions from 8 to 6 ounces, (thank you very much) I was utterly shocked to find HFCS in their Yogurt. The average consumer is fooled into thinking Yogurt is good for your health and here it has HFCS! YUK! I’ll pass on the Dannon and stick to Stonyfield or my new favorite… Greek Yogurt with a nice spoonful of local honey. It was very ironic that later that night I met a woman working at a Plant that genetically modifies corn into HFCS! She was ashamed and Dannon should be too!

Call Dannon 1-877-DANNONUS (1-877-326-6668), and tell them to take the HFCS out of their Yogurt.
